INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS/TWINNING

The Municipal Council of Manzini strives to forge international relations with cities and towns in other countries from the African and other continents. As a result, it is a member of the Sister Cities International organization whose aim is to try and foster cooperation among cities and towns.

These international relations, popularly known as twinning agreements, enable the Municipal Council of Manzini to learn from the best in terms of service delivery and good governance in line with her motto of ‘Manzini Strives for Excellence’.

Other twin cities of the Municipal Council of Manzini, most of whom are from outside Swaziland, have in the past also gained a lot in terms of information sharing.

These international relations also encourage professional and cultural exchange programmes among sister cities thereby broadening staff’s understanding of issues in their professional fields.

As the Municipal Council of Manzini we strongly believe that, if utilized efficiently, these relations can take our cities to greater heights at a reasonable investment.
